Our Board

Riot Productions Inc is a 501c3 non-profit theatrical production company focused on intersectional feminism and representation for womxn, people of color, and the lgbtqia+ community on stages, based in San Diego, California. Riot Productions operated independently beginning in July, 2023 and was formally established as a 501c3 non-profit in March, 2024 by founders Josalyn Johnson and Sarah Alida LeClair. 

Josalyn Johnson, Founder, Chief Financial Officer.

Josalyn Johnson is an actress, singer, and director. She was most recently seen as “The Proctor” in “Audition Sides” at the San Diego International Fringe Festival, where she received acclaim for her comic portrayal of the well-intentioned proctor within this piece which would go on to be a critics “Top Fifteen to Watch” and the “Outstanding World Premiere” at the 2024 San Diego Fringe Festival. Josalyn was previously seen in “Five Women, One Dress” at Lamplighters Theatre and “Murder Ballad” as the Narrator at Patio Playhouse, which received several awards and nominations for Best Ensemble.


Sarah Alida LeClair, Founder, Artistic Director.

Sarah LeClair is an actress, singer, and writer. Her play “Audition Sides” was the winner of the Outstanding World Premiere at the 2024 San Diego International Fringe Festival, in which she starred as “The Woman.” Sarah was previously seen at New Village Arts as Helen in “Fun Home”, and at Moxie Theatre as Rachel in “The Pleasure Trials” as well as the Lady of the Court in “Mother of the Maid” and on stage as a singer and music director of Moxie’s “Miscast Cabaret.”


Laura Preble, Creative Board.

Laura Preble is an actress, singer, and writer. Laura Preble has performed in shows at the San Diego Repertory Theater (Six Women With Brain Death), The Old Globe (La Pastorela), Onstage Playhouse (The Diary of Anne Frank), San Diego Fringe Festival (Big Kitchen: The Musical), San Diego Comic Con (Amazon Prime Carnival Row activation). She was on the board of InnerMission Productions, and was media liaison and co-producer of San Diego International Fringe Festival from 2022-2024.  


Martie Clark, Creative board.

Mandated Reporter.

Martie is a diector, producer, and educator. Her most recent award winning directorial offering, “Ordinary Days” at Patio Playhouse was a visual and auditory feast, taking home awards and nominations across several categories. Martie is a performing arts educator and teaching artist at Luminary Arts in San Marcos California.


Xóchitl Quetzal Ramos, Creative board.

Xóchitl (she/her) is an emerging playwright, actress and songwriter from the Tijuana/San Diego border.

She was awarded with the Kyoto prize scholarship for arts and philosophy by the Inamori foundation and the French playwright Arianne Mnouchkine for her initiative on the rescue, research and adaptation of Latin American folkloric elements for it’s incorporation in media. She has performed on stages such as “Carnegie Hall” (New York City), “Auditorio nacional” (Mexico city), “Teatro Degollado” (Guadalajara, Mexico) “Teatro Xicohténcatl” (Tlaxcala, Mexico) and multiple locations in Colombia.

Xóchitl finds herself excited about the opportunity of joining the local theater community in San Diego representing the trans community with new stories that show who we are and our diversity!


Megan Kuramoto Tafolla, Creative Board.

Megan Tafolla is a singer and a professional dancer from San Diego. She has performed multiple seasons with the California Ballet Company as well as with contemporary companies in Redlands, CA. Some of her previous credits include Mimi (Rent) and Sandy (Seasons, a New Musical Song Cycle). She has also choreographed for Danceland! and other various dance shows in San Diego.


Delia Araceli Mejia, Creative Board.

Delia Mejia is an actress and singer in San Diego, CA. After completing her Bachelors in Arts with a performance emphasis at San Francisco State University, Delia is excited to be part of the San Diego theatre community once again. She is eager to be a part of a production company that elevates the voices of BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ indivieuals like herself. Delia was previously seen in “Hair” at OB Playhouse and “These Shining Lives” at Stagehouse Theatre.
